PASTOR’S MOMENTS |
Pastor Eddie B. Woodard
PEACE WITH MYSELF
One of the great struggles in Life is finding Peace with who you are. Overcoming past mistakes and disappointments can be tough at times. The Apostle Paul knew how difficult it was to get Past the Past, and he offers us some really good advice. 1Co 15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 1Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Everything begins with your personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
(A New Man) Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Stop looking at where you’ve been, and look at what you are becoming. Notice that Paul’s “One Thing” had two parts. First he had forget some things, then he had to reach for some things.

DEALING WITH DISAPPOINTMENT
Psalms 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. When we experience disappointment, it’s because the expectations we had about something have gone unrealized. We’ve put all our hope into an experience, event, or maybe even a person, and it didn’t go as planned. Have you been there? Are you there now? Some things disappoint us and only affect us for a few hours. Other disappointments break our hearts in a very deep way. A relationship fails You don’t get the job or promotion. A loved one passes Basically, we become disappointed when there’s a break what we want to happen and what actually happened. Often, it’s disappointment that causes us to question God, because we wonder why our desires or hopes weren’t met. Sometimes you may even feel that He has actually let you down. We love to accept gifts or compliments, but who wants to accept disappointment? Sometimes it feels better to sit in the misery of our disappointment than to address it and move past it. Staying in this place somehow allows you to hold on to what you didn’t get and even daydream about what “could have been.” But we can’t continue to replay our pain over and over if we want to move past whatever it is that’s left us discouraged and disappointed. Accepting our disappointment doesn’t mean we approve of what or who disappointed us. It simply means that we recognize that it happened, and we don’t try to pretend like it didn’t. When you take this step, you are on your way toward finding true freedom from whatever is robbing your joy. Realize today that Disappointment is a sadness. And yes, even followers of Jesus experience disappointment and sadness. But just because we do, doesn’t mean we’re immature Christians. It doesn’t mean we don’t hope in Jesus, and it certainly doesn’t mean we’re weak. It just means we hoped for a different result than the one we got. So, what happened in your life? Did a situation occur that you weren’t expecting? Did someone’s words wound you and you can’t seem to forget them? Does a dream of yours seem to die over and over again and you don’t know why? Once you can name your disappointment, write it down. Please know one simple Truth from God’s Word today: Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Even the disappointments. Don’t despise the Process. Let your disappointment be a Stepping Stone, not a tombstone. Allow them to take you higher and who knows but God if that disappointment was just another brick that is building a better you. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Good Morning Sunrise Family
For the past four years, we have been earnestly praying for God to allow us to purchase the property next to our Church. On Monday (June 8th) that prayer was answered. God extended our area by 2,19 acres, so He must have a plan for it in this season. The Vision that God has led Sunrise with for all these years, still continues today. Let us seek His Heart and Wisdom as we move into this new season of Service. Our Wednesday Night Service will resume tomorrow night, (June 10th) at 6pm. We will continue our Study, “Life According To God’s Word”. I hope you can join us then. Be Safe, Be Strong, and always Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Blessings To The Sunrise Family
There is much going on in our Country that seeks to take our focus off of the Vision God has given us. This is a very exciting and pivotal time for Sunrise and our community. We have started the process of purchasing the land next to us and hopefully soon we can dedicate it to our Lord. There has been much prayer over that property, and God is claiming it for His Glory. We are also continuing to extend our Ministry online through our Website and YouTube Channel. I hope to soon launch new ways to get the Word to more people using these tools. I hope that you will continue to Pray about your part in the future of Sunrise and all the areas of Ministry that God is leading us into. The Bible says that the Harvest is plentiful, but the Laborers are few. I hope that is never true at Sunrise. May we always seek to do more to reach the lost and hurting in our community and beyond. Mrs. Mary and I pray for you today and always. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Good Morning Sunrise Family.
On Sunday (May 3rd), we resumed our Worship services at Sunrise Chapel. We are NOT currently having Sunday School , but we will have Worship at 10:30 am as usual. Out of respect for one another, we will refrain from hugs and handshakes and settle for smiles and waves for now. We will also do our very best to create safe space between each other, but our desire is to focus on Worshipping our Lord together. Our Wednesday Bible Study resumes on May 13th at 6pm. Our Celebrate Recovery resumes on May 14th at 6pm (NO MEAL AT 5:30 PM). Although I long to see our Church family together again, I also completely understand if you need more time before returning. Be Safe, Be Strong, and Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Good Morning Sunrise Family
It has been four weeks since we Worshipped together at Sunrise Chapel. To be honest, it seems more like four months. Mrs. Mary and I have missed you all very much, but I am grateful to hear that many of you have continued to Worship through our website and YouTube channel. It is my sincere prayer and ambition to return to regular Worship at Sunrise Chapel on May 3rd. If our Governor dictates otherwise, then of course we will comply, but that is our target date. We cannot call this the end of the crisis, but rather the beginning of a new era for our Church family. We have been given a wonderful gift through all of this. The gift of our true identity and purpose. We will not be the same Sunrise. We will praise with more Passion. We will Pray with more Purpose. We will Preach with more Power. The Spirit of Revival is alive and well, and we are charged with the responsibility to Live Revived so the world can see Jesus in us. Praying for you all today and always. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie It is my hope that you and your family had a Peaceful Easter Weekend. It was truly difficult to preach an Easter message with no one else in the Lord’s House, but The Lord and myself. However, I was encouraged that the Word was received in many homes yesterday, and the Spirit of Easter was alive and well.
Although we still have a ways to go, I am hopeful that we will be allowed to assemble again soon. Until then let us not grow weary in well doing. Continue to send cards or phone calls to those that are on your minds and hearts. If you pass by our beloved Sunrise Chapel, pull in and pray for your Church family, and the end to this crisis. Stay in the Word for it alone brings comfort and Peace. Mrs. Mary and I thank each of you for your encouragement and well wishes, and we pray for you all daily. Make sure to check the website periodically for new songs or messages, and share them with others. This Revival Spirit is strong and we are seeing the fruits of years of labor. Stay strong, stay safe, and Be Blessed Pastor Eddie This morning I received an email from a Truck driver that passed through Shady Lawn Truck stop. What follows is his reaction to someone’s actions. We have been saying for over two years that the real Ministry is in the Wilderness. The highways and hedges of life. This proves that God honors His Word, even through our young children. Hello my name is Brent Lynn. I was born and raised in Columbia Tennessee. But now I live in Florida and Indiana. I was very very impressed last night when I walked into the Shady lawn truckstop and saw the little goodie bags that a little boy named Wyatt from your church had left for the truck drivers we own a pretty large carnival and we play a lot of spots up in Tennessee we actually play the Fayetteville fair Lincoln county fair later on in the summer if all this madness happening in the world today will go away but when I grab the bag and I took it back to my truck I saw that it was from a little boy named Wyatt in the second grade andeight years old and he said he went to your church I have a son that is nine years old and is also named Wyatt. I have shared this on my Facebook page and with all my members of my church up in Muncie Indiana called Rising Hope. And on a trucking site on face book also. Please let Wyatt and his family know how much the goodie bag and the note touch my heart. And let him also know that the Little Debbie snack cake was extra tasty knowing it came from Wyatt. And if all this goes away and we are still able to do the Lincoln county fair In Fayetteville that all the Rides will be on me!!! God bless. And thank you. Let’s all leave a comment to let Wyatt know how much his Sunrise Family supports his efforts. Thank you Wyatt for being Jesus to the World. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Good Morning Sunrise
I pray that you had a great day of Worship Yesterday. Our Website has proven to be a valuable tool for us during this chaotic season. I wanted to let you know about our New YouTube channel. It is SUNRISE CHAPEL ELKTON TN. We will be posting all of the Worship and Messages on this site as well as our website. Getting the Word to as many as possible is very important right now, so spread the Word whenever you can. Mrs. Mary and I miss you all very much, but the Spirit of Sunrise was built for moments like this. We can never go back to the way things were, because this has changed us forever. We are stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever to see Revival in the Lord’s people. Stay Safe, Stay Stong, and Stay Blessed. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Good Morning Sunrise Family
Tomorrow is our monthly Prayer Walk. Every first Saturday of the month since we began Sunrise, we have walked (or driven), and prayed over the city of Elkton and the area. This month we have been instructed to remain at home as much as possible. We do, however, have the privilege and Power to pray where we are. So I am asking our Sunrise Family to join us in prayer tomorrow morning. Between the hours of 8:00 am to 9:00 am, let us lift up our hearts to God. Praying for this World, our Nation, and our community. Praying for forgiveness, Mercy and Grace from our Lord. If possible get the entire family involved. Choose a special place in your home, or perhaps outside and make that your Alter of Prayer. Read 2 Chronicles 7: 13-15 and claim that promise. This will be our Prayer Walk for April. May it spark a Revival in our homes that will overflow into this dry and thirsty land. May the Lord richly Bless you today and always. P.S.
