PASTOR’S MOMENTS |
Pastor Eddie B. Woodard
Good Morning Sunrise Family
Tomorrow is our monthly Prayer Walk. Every first Saturday of the month since we began Sunrise, we have walked (or driven), and prayed over the city of Elkton and the area. This month we have been instructed to remain at home as much as possible. We do, however, have the privilege and Power to pray where we are. So I am asking our Sunrise Family to join us in prayer tomorrow morning. Between the hours of 8:00 am to 9:00 am, let us lift up our hearts to God. Praying for this World, our Nation, and our community. Praying for forgiveness, Mercy and Grace from our Lord. If possible get the entire family involved. Choose a special place in your home, or perhaps outside and make that your Alter of Prayer. Read 2 Chronicles 7: 13-15 and claim that promise. This will be our Prayer Walk for April. May it spark a Revival in our homes that will overflow into this dry and thirsty land. May the Lord richly Bless you today and always. P.S. Check out The Video FEAR by Zach Williams in the LIVE WORSHIP Section. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie

I pray that this morning finds all of us well and in good Spirits. I had a few issues uploading the Wednesday Night Class, and I apologize for not having it loaded last night.
You can find it in audio form under the "Audio Messages" section. It is Spiritual Vision Pt. 7. The Handouts are under "Bible Study Handouts". Also I have linked a Youtube video that I think you will enjoy. it is under the "Live Worship Service Section". Praying God's richest blessings upon every home in the Name of Jesus. Amen Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Good Morning Father
Today I pray a blessing over our Sunrise Family. I speak Light in the midst of darkness. I proclaim Faith over fear, Freedom that breaks the fetters of our current situation. If the world would only heed what we already know, that You are God and there is no one like You. I pray Lord for protection over every household, and over every heart. May our minds not give way to the lies of our enemy, but yield itself to the Promises You have made to those who Love You. I ask You Lord to send the Mighty angels of Glory round about Your beloved Church. Teach us the true Power that is within us, and send us forth to turn this world upside down for Your Glory. Peace shall Prevail, and from the rubble, a Mighty Revival will rise! In Jesus Name, In Jesus Name, In Jesus Name AMEN Be Blessed Pastor Eddie GOOD MORNING SUNRISE FAMILY
The times are changing by the minute it seems. As I write to you this morning, there is now a confirmed case of the Virus in our county. This brings it closer to home for us, and we must never fear, but always be wise. There may be a few changes as to how we do our Praise and Worship in order to protect the team, but our desire is to always bring Worship to your home from Sunrise. In addition to doing Sunday morning messages, I will also be doing Wednesday night class as usual, and bringing it to you in the Live Worship Service section. Please be in prayer concerning our Easter Service. I will be posting it at a later date. If you have any current Prayer Request please text them to me, Mrs. Joyce, or Mrs. Rhonda. Also any updates on former Prayer Request. Please continue to stay in contact with each other as often as possible, and stay safe. The Lighthouse will guide us through this storm. We love you all. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Sunrise Family
Effective Immediately all Services and Programs at Sunrise Chapel and Shady Lawn Truckstop are suspended until further notice. This is in response to Gov. Bill Lee's Order that prohibits the gathering of 10 or more people. It was my desire to continue our Worship through this difficult time, however we must use Wisdom and follow the advise of our leadership. We will continue to provide you with Worship Songs, Bible Study material, and messages on our website to stay connected together. Each Sunday morning we will have Worship music and a message under the "Live Worship" heading. I encourage parents to use the Bible Study materials to have your own Church Service or Wednesday Night class in your home. I will make weekly calls or text to check on our Church family, and as much as you can, stay in contact with each other regularly. We are use to a close personal Spirit filled Worship time together. In that regard this will be a struggle for us, but God is Faithful, this to shall pass. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie His Voice
This morning it is Your Voice I seek Lord. Though many voices shout in my mind, there is only one Truth. Today Lord, I do not seek the easy answer, nor the safest answer. I only want the answer that will bring me Peace. Your Peace, Your Direction, Your Protection, and Your Purpose for my life. I need to hear from You oh Lord. My life is in Your Hands and my Path beyond what I can see. Is there more to my life than this? Is there a greater calling beyond my understanding. I hear You knocking, and I shall answer. Speak Lord, for I am listening. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Set Free
If the bestselling books accurately reflect what’s important to a great many people, then freedom is a top priority. Check a current list of the most popular “how to” titles and see how many deal with becoming free—in finances, health, work, attitudes, and relationships. Publishers know that in our relentless quest for a fulfilling life, personal freedom is in. It’s no surprise, then, that one of the world’s most enduring bestsellers, the Bible, is all about living free. But the Scriptures offer the unique perspective that true freedom is found by obeying Almighty God, not by living according to our own desires. The psalmist celebrated God’s Word as the key to personal liberty. Within the Lord’s commands he found guidance and strength to move freely through life. One translation of Psalm 119:32 says, “I run in the path of Your commands, for You have set my heart free.” Verse 45 proclaims, “I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your precepts.” Imagine what it would be like to be released from your greatest anxiety and to run free. It can happen. If you would like to find freedom today, obey God’s Word and let Him set your heart free. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Testing our thoughts and learning to take them captive is a huge part of the mental battle we have with our thoughts. So, when we can learn to do that as a regular practice, we will gain control over our thoughts.
But what if we chose to be more proactive with our thoughts in order to prevent reacting later on? There will still be thoughts that have to be tested and taken captive, of course. For we are not perfect. We can, however, choose to follow through with Paul’s exhortation in Colossians 3:2 NIV, which says, “Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.” In setting our minds on “things above” we will have less thoughts that need testing and being taken captive. When we set our minds, we are striving for something and directing our mind toward a certain thing. This verse says we shouldn’t set our minds on earthly things. Those “earthly things” usually distract us and cause our thoughts to keep us from God’s best. There are plenty of things we see every day that are out of our control. But, much of what we see can be prevented. What we put in front of our eyes is a big deal. If you feel that you have too many toxic thoughts, what is it that could be causing them? Could it be things on TV, social media, or the news? It’s wise to analyze the things we are viewing daily and ask God to show us what would be a good thing to decrease or eliminate altogether. Much like we need to watch what we put in front of our eyes, we also need to consider what is going into our ears. What we hear affects our thoughts just as much as what we see. Have you noticed what types of music, books, or podcasts possibly cause toxic thoughts in your mind? Are there things you need to include, not just remove, that will build you up and help create healthy thoughts instead? Instead of focusing on and setting our sights on things that could cause toxic thoughts, let’s be proactively mindful of what we choose to put in front of us. When we choose things that honor God and keep us pure in heart, we will have less thoughts to test and take captive. Reflect
The Church
This modern day world needs to be changed from the inside out. You can never change the Heart of the World until you Change the heart of the Church. You will never change the heart of the Church until you change the heart in you. The Church is at it’s best, doing the greatest good for the World, when it is standing firm against the devil. Satan has done his most destructive work by convincing God’s people that they have no power over him. The only Church to rise above this lie, is the one that is led totally by the Holy Spirit. Satan has no answer for a Spirit led people. It is time to awake from our slumber and change the world. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie Do you ever feel as if your thoughts are tumbling around in your head? Will the insurance get paid? Can I pick up the kids from school without running out of gas? What will I do if I lose my job?
I think we forget sometimes that all those everyday worries add up to an uncomfortable way of living, void of the peace God promises. Worry stems from believing the father of lies, the accuser of the brethren (John 8:44). I’ve taken his bait many times. Have you? The enemy always wins when he convinces us to divert our attention from God to the details of to-do lists, overcrowded schedules, praiseworthy holiday costumes, perfectly set dinner tables. We focus on “impression management” with styled social media photos and status updates to engender likes, comments, and shares, as if they mean anything about our value and worth. We might even say yes to commitments when we’d rather not, just because we desire acceptance and affirmation. We work ourselves into a frenzy with insufficient rest because we don’t trust next month’s paycheck or perhaps because we’ve fallen victim to the lie that our worth is equal to our busyness or our possessions. When we allow ourselves to become swallowed up in the urgency of the moment, the hour, or the day, we trade our peace for a counterfeit that never satisfies. When we aren’t intentional with our thoughts and actions, our habitual way of responding to life with worry sets the stage for unrest and discontentment. We never see Jesus worried or hurried. He had enough ministry needs to meet to last multiple lifetimes, yet He had only three years to complete the work the Father sent Him to do. He wasn’t ruled by to-do lists or public perception. Never once did He rush to get more done. We never read of Him running to His next divine appointment. Rather, Jesus walked at a pace that was sustainable. He simply did the next thing His Father told Him to do, and that was enough. So Live in the moment. It is all we really have. You can't rewrite yesterday, and tomorrow may never come. May the Peace of Jesus rule your day. Be Blessed Pastor Eddie |
